Albania is a small European nation which shares land borders with Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Greece. Albania has a long coastline on the Adriatic sea, three major ports and good ferry connections with the east coast of Italy.
Buses run to and from the capital Tirana to Podgorica in Montenegro, Pristina in Kosovo, Skopje in North Macedonia and Ioannina in Greece.
Albania is poorly served by railway, with no international passenger services whatsoever. There is a limited domestic service, but you cannot use it to get to the Vlorë, Berat, Forçë, Saranda or even the capital Tirana.
